Bruno Ballestrero is the founder and director of San Bao Center. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and began his training with the Professor Sergio Deliens, disciple of the Master Zhang Zhi Guo in 1999. In 2003 he became a student of the director of the Kai Men Kung Fu Association, Professor Horacio Di Renzo, who is in turn a disciple of the Grandmaster Chan Kowk Wai and the Sino-Brazilian Kung Fu Academy. He started teaching Kung Fu and Tai Chi in Kai Men Kung Fu Association in 2004 and formed his own institute, Centro San Bao, in 2008. He has also taught in the National University of Fine Arts of Argentina (IUNA), Hawai‘i Pacific University, YWCA of Honolulu and Still and Moving Center.

With Professor Horacio Di Renzo, Bruno trained in the styles of Northern Shaolin and Tai Chi Chuan, supplemented by other styles such as Praying Mantis, Choy Li Fut, Lohan, etc. He has taken seminars with the Masters Zhang Zhi Guo, Yang Jwing Ming, Kwong Wing Lam and the Grandmaster Chan Kowk Wai. In addition to studying acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine from Chao Piao-Sheng, disciple of Wang Shu Jin, Bruno has also studied the Kettlebells physical conditioning technique and the physical therapy technique known as “Global Postural Reeducation.” In 2004, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 he traveled to Sao Paulo, Brazil, to train directly with the Grand Master Chan Kowk Wai. In 2012, Horacio Di Renzo presented him with the diploma of “trained professor” at the Academia Sino-Brasileira of Kung Fu in Sao Paulo. In 2015, for personal reasons, San Bao Center formally disengaged from Kai Men Kung Fu Association and the Sino-Brazilian Kung Fu Academy of Chan Kowk Wai.

Catherine BlackCatherine Black was born in Kenya and raised in Hawai‘i. She began her training in 2002 with the Professor H.L. Schauer, disciple of Master Kwong Wing Lam, in the styles of Northern Shaolin, Tai Chi Chuan (Sun style), and Hung Gar. She also studied Lohan Chi Kung with Professor Seng Jeorng Au, disciple of the Grandmaster Chen Yong Fa. In 2005 she moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she began her training with the Professor Horacio Di Renzo, director of Kai Men Kung Fu Association, in Northern Shaolin, Tai Chi Chuan (Yang style), and Pa Kua Chang. She began to teach Tai Chi in Centro San Bao in Buenos Aires in 2009. Catherine studied acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine with Chao Piao-Sheng in 2010. In 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 she traveled to Sao Paulo, Brazil, to train with the Grandmaster Chan Kowk Wai. In 2012, Horacio Di Renzo presented her with the diploma of “trained professor” at the Academia Sino-Brasileira of Kung Fu in Sao Paulo.
